Abstract: The found of Discipline of Chinese graphics originated in the graphics education. Professor
Zhao Xuetian devoted himself to the education and popularization of graphics knowledge. He will
focus on formulas of mechanical drawing to the most fundamental projective geometry knowledge
into some poetry. He organized the Hubei Province Drawing Society and national academic
conference on graphics, set up in the China Engineering Graphics Society, and promoted the research
of the history on Chinese graphics. This paper traces the institutionalization process of the discipline
of Chinese graphics, and discusses Professor Zhao Xuetian’s contribution to Chinese graphics.
Professor Zhao Xuetian is the founder of the discipline construction of Chinese graphics.
