Abstract: The model reconstruction method of protection scope based on complex lightning
protection is discussed and researched. The basic thinking is provided about reconstructing the
protection scope by the 2D contour lines of the plane of the protection scope. By using the theory
of grounder, the creating method of 2D contour lines on the protection plane is analyzed and
researched on the basic of envelope principle and the corresponding math model is given. Then,
the 3D reconstruction method based on 2D contour lines is researched. The above method is not
only fit to design the complex lighting protection scope but also fit to design the simple one, and
provide a new way to the design of lighting protection scope.
