The Methods of Interference Detection and Assembly Sequence Planning Based on Boundary Extrusion

Abstract: Interference detection and assembly sequence planning are the key technologies in virtual assembly. Detection of interference by using discrete trajectory is the general algorithm, but the size of every movement step is difficult to decide. A detection method based on boundary extrusion is proposed. It is continuous detection rather than discrete interference detection, thus it reduces the calculation time and improves the efficiency. The assembly sequence can be obtained with the interference detection algorithm. Practice shows that the methods are effective.
