Guide to Authors


  • Journal of Graphics is an academic journal sponsored by the China Graphics Society, It is a non-profit, public benefit, open access journal. It is a Core Journal of China Science Citation Database (CSCD), and a Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations (CSTPCD). The journal is published bimonthly, big 16 kai in paper size. It primarily publishes high-caliber academic articles on pertinent scientific research, encompassing a wide range of such columns as Overview, Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Digital Design and Manufacturing, Industrial Design, and Building and Urban Information Modeling. Submissions are welcome from experts, scholars, teachers, and students in the field.

    I.                    Submission Guidelines

    1.       The manuscript must have clear arguments, reliable data, concise writing style, and correct results. It should contain 5,000–8,000 Chinese characters. It includes: title, author(s), author affiliation(s) (including province, city, and postal code), Chinese abstract, keywords (≥5), Chinese Library Classification code, main text, and references. The English part: title, author(s), author affiliation(s), abstract and keywords, author profile, fund, figure caption, table title, references, which should correspond to the Chinese counterparts.

    2.       Diagrams should be clear, with the resolution above 300 dpi. Physical quantities and units should conform to China’s standards. The letters and symbols in formulas must be correctly upper- or lower-cased, italicized, or bolded (vectors, tensors, and matrices must be in black italic), and the superscripts and subscripts should be correct.

    3.       Profile of the first author and corresponding author: name, year of birth, gender, title, degree, research interests, and email address.

    4.       The title should be highly generalized, succinct, accurate, and novel (a maximum of twenty Chinese characters, without a subtitle).

    5.       The abstract should be a summary of the paper, accurate and clear, with no less than 300 Chinese characters and no less than 2,500 characters in English. Such wordings as “this paper” and “the paper” should be avoided.

    6.       The references cited should be marked in small square brackets in the upper right corner of the corresponding positions in the text. The list of references after the text should be written in the following format in order of appearance in the text.


    ① Monograph: [Serial number] Main author(s). Title [M]. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher, year of publication: page number.

    ② Journal: [Serial number] Main author (foreigners’ last name before first name, all letters of last name capitalized, initial letters of first name capitalized). Article title [J]. Journal title, year, volume (issue): page number.

    ③ Article in proceedings: [Serial number] Main author. Article title [C]//Title of proceedings. Place of publication: Publisher, year of publication: page number.

    ④ Dissertation: [Serial number] Main author. Title [D]. Place of preservation: Preservation institution, year of preservation.

    ⑤ Technical standards: [Serial number] Main drafter. Standard code, Standard sequence number-year of publication, Standard name [S]. Place of publication: Publisher, year of publication.

    ⑥ Electronic documents: [Serial number] Main author. Title [EB/OL]. (Date of update or date modified)[Date accessed]. URL.


    7.       The number of references should be appropriate, generally no less than twelve, the majority of which should be Chinese and foreign journals and proceedings published in the past five years. They should be listed in order of appearance in the text, and unpublished materials should not be cited. If the authorship exceeds three persons in the reference list, only the first three should be listed, followed by “et al.”


    II.                  Submission Instructions: Please visit the homepage of the editorial system of Journal of Graphics (http//www.txxb.com.cn), and click “Author Login” to enter the system, first-time submission requiring registration. The journal only accepts manuscripts submitted to the system and adopts double-blind reviewing.

    1.       File for blind reviewing: Delete author names, affiliations, and author profiles in Chinese and English.

    2.       Original file: Keep author names, affiliations, and author profiles in Chinese and English.

    III.               Academic Ethics: The manuscript should neither be submitted to more than one journals, nor contain any confidential content or be in conflict of the interests of others. The manuscript will be returned if the Academic Misconduct Literature Check (AMLC) system proves that the copy ratio exceeds 12%. The authors shall be held accountable for data inaccuracy, plagiarism, and other malpractices.

    IV.               Copyright: In accordance with the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China, all authors of the manuscript should agree to transfer the following worldwide rights of the manuscript to the Editorial Board of Journal of Graphics (hereinafter referred to as “Editorial Board”): copying, distribution, dissemination via information network, performance, translation, compilation, and adaptation. After three months since the submission to the Editorial Board, if there is no notice in terms of review, revision, acceptance, or delayed processing, the author may dispose of the paper at their will, with the Editorial Board informed.

    Once the manuscript is accepted, the Editorial Board has the right to use it for the first publication on the China Knowledge Network Infrastructure (CNKI) and to authorize the CNKI databases to disseminate the manuscript via information network. The author can download and print the “Certificate of First Publication via Network” through CNKI. This certificate contains the title of the paper, the author(s), the publication URL, the publication date, and other authentication information, which could be submitted to relevant departments on scientific research or personnel.

    V.                 Fees and complimentary issues: In order to support the publication of open access journals, authors who publish papers in this journal will be charged article review fees (about 100 yuan/article), layout fees and color fees (about 500 yuan/edition); For those who are recruited after external review by experts and whose authors propose to withdraw their manuscripts, review fess shall be charged as appropriate. Offers authors a one-time fee for the manuscripts, with two complimentary copies.
