Abstract: Based on the research of the ship structural members knowledge representation#br# and organization mechanism, combining with digital design technique and RPD development#br# thinking, the concept of structural model library to support rapid design and its organizational#br# structure are put forward. Through building a ship?s type library by using the presentation of#br# knowledge and encapsulating the digital design functionality of the hull structure by using model#br# library and also using distributed database to manage the ship information, a prototype software#br# system is developed.
