Abstract: The Terracotta Warrior block is a rigid block with some thickness, and it’s fracture surface
segmentation is an important work of Terracotta Warrior restoration. Aiming at triangular mesh data
model of Terracotta Warrior blocks, an effective fracture surface segmentation method was proposed
here. Firstly, the feature segmentation points were extracted by calculating the volume integral
invariant of each vertex on surfaces. Secondly, the closed boundary lines were solved by minimum
spanning trees algorithm and pruning strategy. Finally, all the surfaces were extracted and the fracture
surfaces were distinguished from original surfaces. The experimental results showed that the
proposed method could effectively complete fracture surface segmentation of the Terracotta Warrior
block when the fracture surfaces were rougher than original surfaces. So the proposed fracture surface
segmentation method is an effective fracture surface segmentation way of Terracotta Warrior blocks.
