Abstract: Mini electric vehicle (M-EV) is drawing increasing attention. Due to the difference in
technology and structure from the traditional vehicle, there is broad space for the creative modeling
design of M-EV. However, whether this new product can meet users’ expectation is a tough challenge
posed for designers. Research methods of Miryoku engineering can effectively handle the attractive
problems on perceptual level between user preferences and products. This study analyzes the users’
preferences of M-EV through evaluation grid method (EGM) and quantification theory type I (QT-I),
trying to figure out the form attraction factors which can effectively satisfy users’ preferences. These
factors will be implanted through the design applications. This study aims to explore a more reliable
design method to enhance form attractiveness of new product design, and to provide a research
caseforstudies on user perceptual level.
