Research on the strategy of feature displacement for cylinder sweeping feature in finite element fields

Abstract: In the finite element analysis, the calculation of the model with overcomplicated
geometric attributes will lead to a huge cost of computing resources. As some kind of geometric
attributes have little impact on the calculation result, simplification of those attributes will greatly
increase the computing efficiency. In this paper, the relationship between sweeping path’s
curvature and mesh diametric is researched and the proper displacement strategy of cylinder
sweeping feature which is prevalent in model is explored. Feature displacement reduces the cost
of computing resources on the premise of a certain analysis concise. Finally, a simulation
experiment focused on finite element thermal analysis is executed to verify the validity of the
conclusions.
