Abstract: Base on the theory of heat transfer, this paper discusses the influence of temperature on ball-screw. Firstly, the coefficient of convective heat transfer was determined as well as the coefficient of heat flux. Then the finite element model of ball-screw was built by finite element software ANSYS. Steady temperature field and thermal deformation was also obtained in the same way. The nephogram of simulation revealed that when ball-screw spanned at a speed of about 1350 r/min, its temperature raised to 3.8℃ with a thermal deformation of 8.32 ?m.#br# Key words: ball-screw; thermal deformation; finite element analysis; nephogram of simulation
