Abstract: Focusing on the problems of the old and single shape of ceramic tea set molding, the design method of ceramic tea set based on user’s perceptual intention is put forward. According to the theory of the perceptual intention, the quantitative relationship between user’s perceptual intention and the form elements of ceramic tea set is examined by adopting qualitative and quantitative research methods. Through the analysis of the shape elements of the ceramic tea sets, the teapot is defined as the main research object. We combine semantic differential method, factor analysis method, and multiple linear regression analysis method to detect the consumers’ perceptual evaluations on the form of ceramic teapot. The data statistics and analysis are employed to quantify the corresponding relationship between the user’s perceptual intention and the form design of ceramic teapot, and the correctness of the method is s verified by a design example. The results of the research providea new method of user-centered product form design, which has some implications for the form design of ceramic tea set for the users’ intention preferences.
