Abstract: In addition to meeting present-day development requirements, a worthwhile
discipline should anticipate trends and includes new contents. Anticipating trends is sometimes
difficult but an attempt is made in the paper. The development of engineering drawing is the
continuity of the history. The current state of engineering drawing cannot meet the demands
brought by rapid development in terms of both science and technology and production and
manufacturing as well. It，s required to carry out experiments for engineering drawing, which can
drive the development of courses. As a result, the positive circulation with theory development by
experiment and vise versa will be established, which will be an efficient channel of sustainable
development for engineering drawing.
