Abstract: Dimension (parameters) driven method and program-driven method are two kinds of parametric design methods of SolidWorks secondary development. This paper proposes a combined parametric design method after studying and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the existing two parametric design methods, and it is classified as two forms of series and parallel based on implementation ways. The study shows that it can make full use of the advantages of both dimension driven method and program-driven method. The paper develops a program based on Microsoft Visual C++6.0, which verifies its superiority in designing complex parts.
