Abstract: Several misunderstandings in the implementation of industrial design in China are pointed out by comparing the development status of Industrial Design at home and abroad, emphasizing the necessity and urgency to develop Industrial Design reasonable and vigorously in China. High-value products forecasting and assessment based on advanced Industrial Design methods are showed, which comprehensively analyze the SET factors (Social, Economic and Technology factors) and evaluate with the Value Opportunities (VOs) based on iNPD (integrated New Product Development). The results show the preponderance of applying Industrial Design rationally through the entire process of High-Tech industrialization by illustrated two actual projects through the use of these methods.
