Abstract: In order to further promote the reform of the engineering graphics teaching
method, this paper introduces the students mapping and modeling innovation competition and
discusses the meaning of the national university generating graphics and modeling innovation
contest and the problems found in the competition. The paper elaborates that expounding the
engineering graphics curriculum theory teaching and practice are two important factors of
cultivating outstanding engineers. It puts forwards the idea of using the national university
mapping competition as a guide to build new teaching concepts, new teaching contents and new
teaching assessment so as to adapt to the trend of outstanding engineers and engineering education
training reform and prompt the school to further develop practical ability in the overall project.
