A Design Method of Automobile Front Face for Users’ Cognizance

Abstract: In order to form the characters of auto front face of product family for emerging
independent companies, a design method for users’ cognizance is proposed to enhance the
awareness of consumers. The definition of auto front face and the conception of product family
are discussed. The specific design process is divided into Gestalt design, visual characters design
and details design. Furthermore, how to utilize the characters of front face in product family is
explained. Finally, taking Buick as a case, the method is described.
