Abstract: Aimed at the problem training students’ expression ability，innovation design
ability and practice ability in engineering drawing course, both basic theory and application of
methods are needed in order to guide students to correctly analyze problem by using of the
projective rules and discover new relative ones. The results in teaching and engineering practice
show that training the basic theory is very important. The basic thinking way of the expression in
engineering drawing is proposed which students must be trained. The teaching difficulties and
focus in engineering drawing course are determined based on the training results of students’
innovation design and practice ability.
